The Santa Project: 2021

In December, the young son of a Mill Valley family who had donated brand new desks to Welcoming Home families so that their children could do distant learning had a suggestion. “Mom,” how ‘bout we do something special for the families for the holidays?” The “something special” turned out to be small Christmas trees for those who celebrated Christmas, presents for all the children and groceries so that the families could prepare a holiday meal.

The Mom of the family reached out to her friends for cash donations to cover everything and the young son and his brother personally wrapped all the presents. A handful of volunteers visited each of the families and delivered the holiday surprise.

Our thanks go out to the young boy who came up with the idea, to his Mom and brother for organizing it, and to all the donors and volunteers for making it happen. It truly takes a community!
