Welcoming Home Creates Staff Room for Homeward Bound “New Beginnings” Facility
Homeward Bound is the local Marin non-profit that provides shelter, housing, job training and support for the formerly unhoused.
The hardworking staff at Homeward Bound’s “New Beginnings” facility needed a place where they could take a break, recharge and/or catch up on computer work. Welcoming Home was asked to turn a room used for temporary storage into a cozy place where staff could relax and that would also provide workspace.
The room is also occasionally used to house a client overnight when the organization’s regular accommodations are full. Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we were pleased to be able to provide a beautiful sofa bed to accommodate the occasional overnight user.

The Senior Director in charge of the project, said “This space turned out perfectly! I'm blown away by how thoughtfully you incorporated all of our requests and notes. We are already starting to enjoy the room and cannot thank you enough!"

About Sponsored Welcomings
"Sponsorship" means paying for the brand new mattresses, box springs and frames; the cost of the movers; the Starter Kit of necessary items that the individual or family needs in the short term, and any needed items that aren't donated. To enable us to help more people, we need more organizations, groups of friends, schools, etc. to sponsor Welcomings.
