Another Sponsored Welcoming Thanks to Marion Weinreb
On September 6th, Welcoming Home volunteers transformed an empty apartment into a beautiful and warm home due, once again, to the generous sponsorship of Marion Weinreb in the name of the Steven Jackson Memorial Fund.
Tammy and her 5 year old daughter Cindy recently moved back to the Bay Area with the assistance of Homeward Bound of Marin after having relocated to Texas to help her ex/Cindy's dad who had been shot and paralyzed. He was abusive to Tammy even though she was there to help him so she ended up getting him relocated to his dad’s.
Tammy is now putting herself and her daughter first and making a fresh start. She is extremely grateful for this help in furnishing her apartment.
She is currently working as a PCT at an acute care hospital in the Bay Area and is starting school soon to complete a 12 week CNA program. Her goal is to eventually become a nurse!
Her daughter, Cindy, just started kindergarten and is already excited abiyt having a princess theme for her bedroom!

Return Home
Tammy and her daughter Cindy were thrilled to see the magical transformation of their home. Wandering through the rooms, they pointed out all the special touches.
While Cindy explored her bedroom, admiring her princess crown and ring on her new nightstand, Tammy commented on her daughter's excited reaction, "That’s the most important thing - that she's happy!”
Before we left Tammy gratefully noted, "Where I come from, they don’t do things like this for people!"

About Sponsored Welcomings
"Sponsorship" means paying for the brand new mattresses, box springs and frames; the cost of the movers; the Starter Kit of necessary items that the individual or family needs in the short term, and any needed items that aren't donated. To enable us to help more people, we need more organizations, groups of friends, schools, etc. to sponsor Welcomings.
