Another Formerly Homeless Family Helped by an Anonymous Sponsor
Lana and her family were referred to us by a case manager at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital after facing an incredibly challenging year. Her 11-year-old daughter, Ana, recently underwent a life-saving heart transplant. Ana spent eight months in the hospital and is now finally on the path to healing. The family, including 18-year-old son Yonis, stayed at the Ronald McDonald House during her recovery.
Now that Ana can continue her recovery away from the hospital, the family recently was able to secure a small studio apartment where they will live together—a space to call their own at last.
Ana loves Lilo & Stitch; and Yonis is a huge sports fan.
Despite everything they’ve endured, the family’s strength, love, and gratitude shine through.
Their case manager shared, “This family is truly one of the most special, loving families I have ever worked with in my entire career. Everyone who comes across their path loves them.”
Thanks to the generosity of a local anonymous couple, we were honored to help welcome Laura and her children into their new home.

Return Home
Lana peeked into the studio apartment, not sure what she would see. She broke into a wide smile, catching sight of her family's "new" home. We asked where Ana was, as she had not returned with her Mom. Lana said she was resting at a neighbor's house, but when she saw Ana's bed, with all the Lilo and Stitch decor, she called Ana, telling her she had to come right over.
Sure enough, Ana appeared and was overjoyed with their new space, hugging her new Stitch stuffed animal.
Lana couldn't stop thanking us, wishing many blessings on us. We wished the same for them
