Sponsored Welcoming
On August 14th, Welcoming Home fully furnished another apartment, thanks to the sponsorship* of a couple who wish to remain anonymous.
The new resident is Sam; he was referred to us by Marin Housing Authority.
Sam had been living in a place that was unsafe for his health; he has COPD. He finally moved into a clean apartment, on the first floor where he doesn’t have to climb stairs ... but he had no furniture. That's when, thanks to the sponsors and donors, our amazing volunteers did their magic!
*Sponsorship means this couple covered the cost of the movers, new bed, Starter Kit, and the purchase of any needed items that weren’t donated

Sam had to sit and catch his breath when he returned. A beautiful dark blue/gray armchair was waiting for him right inside his front door.
After a few minutes, his face broke into a wide smile. He got up and examined every detail of his newly furnished apartment.
“This is really nice. I didn’t think you were going to do all this” he said. Even Tiger, his feline best friend, got scratching posts and a tall ladder to play on.
“You guys rock!” he said as we left.
