A Generous Welcoming Made Possible by an Anonymous Sponsor
Althea has a five-year-old daughter and three-year-old son who is on the spectrum. Unfortunately, she and her two children were forced to flee their home because of domestic abuse.
The Center for Domestic Peace helped them to find an apartment but they didn’t have any furniture at all.
Mom told us that her daughter loves Hello Kitty and all things girly. Her son loves dinosaurs and planets. So, Welcoming Home went to work …

Return
Althea and her children were blown away by their “new” apartment. “I can’t believe this is the same place!” she said.
Even though her son had always insisted on sleeping with Mom, he went straight to his dinosaur bed and plopped on it to play on his tablet. “A first step,” Althea observed. As for her daughter, she squealed when she saw her fairytale room, complete with Hello Kitty theme.
We wish this family, who has been through so much, the peace and comfort they haven’t experienced for a long time.

About Sponsored Welcomings
"Sponsorship" means paying for the brand new mattresses, box springs and frames; the cost of the movers; the Starter Kit of necessary items that the individual or family needs in the short term, and any needed items that aren't donated. To enable us to help more people, we need more organizations, groups of friends, schools, etc. to sponsor Welcomings.
