Jessica was referred to us by Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa.
Jessica has had a lot of hardship in her life. She was in a violent relationship with the father of her children and ended up giving them up for adoption to protect them.
A couple of years ago she was the victim of a random violent crime. She escaped and eventually the police found and arrested the perpetrator. They were also able to find her car. But when the man was released from jail, she no longer felt safe in that town.
Jessica heard about a friend moving to the North Bay and thought it would be a good opportunity to start over. But initially it was very difficult and she ended up homeless.
With the help from Catholic Charities, she is now in a new location where no one knows her and she feels safe; she's very grateful to have this apartment to call home.

Jessica was so thankful to Welcoming Home for the help we have given her and her little dog, Tinkerbell.

The sponsoring of this Welcoming Home transformation was made possible by the generosity of members of the Oakmont Rainbow Women who are Welcoming Home volunteers. They provided the funds for the bed, movers, Starter Kit, as well as for items not donated. They also sourced, coordinated and installed all the furniture and household goods in this home.
About sponsored Welcomings
"Sponsorship" means paying for the brand new mattresses, box springs and frames; the cost of the movers; the Starter Kit of necessary items that the individual or family needs in the short term, and any needed items that aren't donated. To enable us to help more people, we need more organizations, groups of friends, schools, etc. to sponsor Welcomings.
