DESCRIPTION:Sign up link for needed items: \n\nThis Welcoming is generously sponsored by an anonymous local donor. The sponsors support will provide a “Starter Kit” of essential items for the family right away, and help us to collect and install donated furniture and other household goods, purchase brand-new beds for the family, and have items from various donors delivered by professional movers. Now we’re looking to our incredible community to help provide the gently used furniture and household goods that will make this house feel like home.\nRead below to learn more about the individual we’ll be helping, and sign up to donate gently used furniture or essential household items.\nLee and her son, Shawn, left their home to escape a very dangerous and violent situation with Shawn’s father. With both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, Lee worked as a mental health therapist for 22 years but left it all behind to get a fresh start in a new state for herself and her son. With support from Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa, Lee was able to move into a new apartment and begin the process of creating a new home for herself and Shawn. Shawn loves playing the flute and is in the school band. He enjoys building with LEGOs, online gaming, and video games. Lee plans to return to work as a mental health therapist once things settle down, but in the meantime, she has been earning a living by completing orders and deliveries through an online app. After leaving the home he grew up in, Shawn is very happy to have landed in a safe place with his mom.\nLee loves rainbows, plants, sunflowers, all kinds of flowers, and color in general, and she can’t wait to settle into her new home!\n
